my friend at work has a monte carlo 98 with 2 10"orion hcca and a fosgate bd1000 to each sub. he told me today that his system hit 178dB at a comp he went to. does that sound right? i think hes full of sh*t, but i just don't know

he musta had the mic really close to the box, which is essentially cheating. It's only thought to be legal if the mic is in the front of the car. Besides i think the world record is like up there in the high 170's. Therefore, i call a bs flag.

i got that same model car with 2 15's and 2 3000 watt amps and not hitting even close to that

no i am going to try again this weekend. I run out of time. The mic is a linear x but it is tuned 6 times a year so we will see what happens. What is everyone's opinion on this mic

one of the toughest mics there is, they were prob just using a different mic b/c there was a local show up here in my town where a guy had 2 15inch L5's in a sealed box hittin 150's i was like woah something wrong and the were using i believe an audiocontrol mic
