17.7v

im sure the volts wont be at 17 once everything is hooked up to it and turned on. and if it does do anything it should just blow the fuse on the back of the deck or the inline fuse that some alpine decks have.
not if the current draw doesn't exede the fuse....i thought about that. wondering if that will save it incase i do it.

they'll be fine...i think...pretty sure...ok no idea...try it....yea its gonna die....dont do it
I often wonder why a lot of the people on this forum post...?

do you have a fuse that will pop after it excedes 14v?
That would be dumb if fuses worked like that...

To OP:

Odds are your equipment will die. There are quite a few amps which boast being able to support up to 18volts. There are a few lines that have an option between 12, 14, 16, and 18 volt set-ups.

The only thing I'm curious about is what power supply unit do you have that can give out 17 volts and have enough amperes to run an amp and head unit? Most every day power supplies can run a head unit, and maybe a small amp... but you're talking as if volts are Hail Marys and it's all you need.

The volts arent gonna fry anything since your only gonna putting 5 amperes max into whatever your hooking up. I had a Kicker ZR1000 that was modified to handle 18 volts. Bought it off Ebay. It was one of the 48 amps Alma Gates had in her Bronco. Some low life piece of Crap stole it from me. I never had the juice to run it at 18V but I thought I'd share that with you all

i bet it would fry or not turn on or something like that. I was testing amps inside with a battery charger once (old amps), i click it up to 200amp jump start and the amp shut off, all of them did, check voltage of the charger and it was like 17.5 lol. Most '12v' equipment is meant to run 12-16v of course except some amps

if u don't care about the amp just wire it up first and see if it stays on. If it works hook up the speakers and use something else for playing music (rca outs from a home stereo reciever, mp3 player with a headphone jack to rca cable, etc)
