16v Batts, What all brand are out there

yeah one mechman 250amp 12v alt for my car and mid/highs amps, and one 16v 250 amp mechman alt for my sub amp,
I would see about a higher amp alternator also. Don't know what Mechman offers, but i have a DCPower dual setup, i get over 350A out of my 16V alt.

Standing idle on the 16V is over 225A. I can get 350A at 1200RPM. Mine is a street alt and can be driven continuously at any RPM. I'm sure you can get higher, but i like the driveabilty aspect without having to worry about burning up one of my alts.

oh ok the mechman alt it does 150-180 idle, and around 270 when it's going into the rpms, but i think the guy is stuck on mechman anyway due to the customer service and his product does actually perform and does what it says if not more, so idk but i'll mention it to him though and see if he goes for it, but you guys say 3-4 batts he should be fine, this gonna be more of daily showing off, than competition also, so it's gonna be expected to play for a period of time, while idling or riding around....

the last setup he had before he brought it to me had crazy voltage drops, he was running 3 ma hk4000 with 4 deka gp 31 batts and a bunch of ma mids and highs amps, i think he was running about 9 amps in all not including all the proccessors he had going on, and to take the cake, he only had one run of 1/0 gauge, and i told him ain't no way in hell only 4 gp 31s was gonna power all that and sustain voltage with only one run of wire

Mechman has a higher amp alt, but i don't know if he has a streetable version. Probably have to explain the setup and see what he recommends. Mechman is a Powermaster battery dealer also.

How did he not blow a fuse with just one run? He should have had 3-4 runs...
oh he blew something way more important than a fuse, he blew one of his ma hk4000s, and you would think one of his friends just threw the system together for him or something, but a car audio shop actually installed all of it for him, when i first heard his setup his voltage drops where all the way down to 8volts, but they did one run of kicker hypfer flex from front to back, then when they got to the back with the batts they use 4gauge wire to link everything up, i was like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

yeah i talked to mechman about that, but he was saying after 250 amps, it's pretty impossible to make a 300+ amp alt that has a decent output at idle, cause he does offer a 300 amp alt but it only does 100 amps at idle, and his hd 150-175 amps series and rhino 250 amp series does more than that idle

i'm really appreciating this info, working on a wall right now for 9 solo baric 12s (sealed) on a hifonics sampson at .88ohms, just trying to get the electrical down pack for my friend
wow.... 9 SOLO X 12s...very nice indeed..

great amp by the way...good luck with the build

here is pics of the old setup he did ma everything

just incase you thought i was bs about the one run of 1/0 gauge

Batts in the Trunk (as you can see they use 4awg for the batts and amp connections)

**** dude that wall has some potential.. Ever though about less subs and doing something vented?

Also as far as it said a 300+amp alt won't have decent idle amperage is a complete cop-out. I guarantee you if you called DC Power and explained to them the situatuation you would learn a ton..

People fail to realize how much further advanced DC Power is compared to everybody else.

Also did you ever think if you ran just a dual 12volt setup you would have more alternator amperage than a single 12volt and a single 16volt
