160$ to spend, What HU to get?

I have around 160-200 to spend and i just sold my P4000 hu to a friend. I liked the functions and SQ of the pioneer, but i dont wanna go back and get the same model or anything, since i just sold him it to help him out. I was thinking maybe the 6000UB model? Or maybe a pioneer premier something. I really like the looks of the new kenwood models, like the bt838u, what do you guys think about the quality of those? Any reccomendations are welcome though. Im gonna buy it from best buy with my discount if they have the model i want, but if i get it online ill be looking at around 200 shipped tops

edit: we also sell the 6900ub, i think i MIGHT go with that if nothing else comes up. What you guys think?

well..if u would have been a couple days sooner I had a 780mp for sale...

goodluck man!( i would recommend the 780mp to anyone.)
too bad, it's mine! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but seriously, you could definately get a better deal on something around here or even e-bay, if your willing to buy used, than you'd get with a best buy discount... unless it's 50% or something... also i like the 6900, i like the 880 prs or the 980 better though... just my .02

it really depends on what features you want, eq, active, bluetooth, ipod capabilities, etc...

The best buy employee discount on car audio is actually pretty good. I think I paid $38 for a $90 RF 4g kit a few years back. Still might be able to get better online though.

The P6000 is a pretty nice deck, but it's prolly slightly outta yer budget unless u save a few more bones, sonic has it for 220. If you like Kenwood, this seems like a decent deal.

Kenwood has a few decks with oel displays like the 6000's in that range, but when I looked at them at BB, they looked a little tacky to me.

This alpine ain't 2 bad either.

i dont need bluetooth or ipod. I do use my flash drive mostly though so USB is a def. I can get the 6000 model for around 150, the 4000ub only cost me right over 100. My discount is pretty good, i pay 3% more than manufacturer cost. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif When i go in tonight imma price check a few things and prolly pick up the 6900 or the kenwood 838, i dont really wanna buy anything used, nothing personal i just wanna make sure my stuff doesnt break. What things are better on the really high models like the 780 that makes them better than say the 6900 model?

Edit : think im gonna stay in the pioneer line. Alot of the lower end kenwoods seem like crap after reading specs, like they only have 2 or 2.5v pre outs, the pioneers all have 4 or 5v

Get an active capable HU in case you ever want to go down that road...I'd suggest older Eclipse models such as the 8053, 8443, and 8454. Not to mention you won't find 8V pre-outs for the same price anywhere.

I thought about the whole active thing, but what else will i need in order to do it? I have component speakers already, so thats taken care of right? And i need a 2 or 4 channel amp i think? I havent read much on it but from what i read active means seperating frequencies without the whole octave slope thing? It completely removes the other frequencies rather than just quieting them right? Hope i dont sound like an idiot but i havent read much on active vs passive. I was satisfied with the SQ of my 4000ub, best sounding system SQ wise ive heard around here atleast. But noone has any super high end stuff. And where would i be able to buy an eclipse deck from? Ive heard really good things about them too so i was thinking about getting one but dont know where to find them. My only requirements for a deck really are USB, a good EQ to mess with, and good pre amp outputs. Not willing to get a sony or jvc or jensen or any crap like that though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
