15" XXX sketchup Box plans

didnt bother goin to the extream of drawing in the double baffel and the braces. but trust me, they will be there. as well as a brace for the motor
07

and the gross volume of the box is 8.29 cu ft. once u subtract the port voulmes of .91 each and the sub volume of .27 and the bracing and double baffle, ya get 6 cu ft NET. trust me fellas, i racked my brain on how to get 10 lbs in a 8 lbs bag. this shit is bang ON!
well, i gotta admit. im not familar with the 07's so ill stay out of it.

i was just confused because you said the box is 6 cubes net, but then said that slant adds to the net of the box, when in actuality it is the gross. my brain kinda wandered and i figured the box was instead, 6^3ft gross. let us know how it sounds. many people have said the new XXX's beg for sealed box's though.

its EBP says it would perfer sealed, but this is a SQL aplication. though with with 3000watts and tones of cone area, it should be loud eatherway

Kudos! What program is that? I've never seen it before! Looks pretty cool.

If you pull this off, you'll have extra Kudos [to do nothing with, basically... but, still]

That looks good. What car is it going into?

just read the first page i would say by looking at it that u would have a standing wave issue inside the box with that empty cavity space behind the ports. prolly wanna look more into that some and yess 6 cu ft is quite large for one 15 i think two maybe but not one.

but keep it going u will get it somewhere i have been doing it for some years now and don't know it all just yet lol

Do you know what standing waves are?

you are going to want to put a divider between the two ports. Like a 3 deep inch board right behind the sub standing vertical, to seperate them. I built a box comparable to that and it help with efficiency tremendously.

With that much vb and port area that thing is gonna be a low end monster.

Hey, I don't mean to try to hijack this thread, but I made one last night. I did the math and such. It's for 2 JBL 10" [They're actually pretty decent subs] 250-Watt RMS subs:

1.25 Ft^3 tune to 40Hz:

(It said for 1 Sub ported it was 1.25Ft^3. Should it be bigger for 2?)

PortedBox.jpg

EDIT:: it ends up being 24682.375 Inch^3 [1.25Ft^3 converted to In^3 is 2160In^3] not including the space taken up by the actual ports.

(I'm new at ports, don't know how to add them up and such)

I have found 4.8 at 37 hertz is the best all around on that sub. That box is to big for that kind of power. Port area with the bl on that woofer I would go more like 60 square inches sir. So if anything drop the box size down to 5 cubes and tune no lower then 32.

there will be no standing waves inside the box with sub bass freqs...
