15" XXX Repair Advice

So one day my 15" RE XXX starts making this funny noise and I figure out the sub itself is rattling, and when I push on the cone there is a scratching noise, and I assumed it was just fried. But today we pulled it out and the spyder has come detatched from the sub itself (I think that's what it is). So when I lift up on the cone the spyder lifts up as well, and my dad called RE today and they said use Epoxy and just glue it back down. Just want to make sure I don't mess things up so I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience in doing this and if there are any tips or advice u all could give me.

it happens sometimes when the glue does not permiate the spider all the way, or you are giving your XXX too much power, or its in too big of an enclosure, or a mixture of all three.

just get some epoxy and smush it back on there. you should be good. as long as the ENTIRE spider isnt off, it should still be aligned.
