Its not a tc9, but a TC3000

I can see where people would confuse that with an HC, but looking at the bottoms of the motors they are indeed different. I own a V2 HC. One of the differences i see immediately is the HCs motor is tapered on the bottom.





To the OP: thats a nice looking woofer you have there. treat it well and you will enjoy it.

to me they dont. there is a different finish on the motors... possibly different material used? the tc3k looks like its a raw unfinished aluminum wheras the HC looks like its a chrome plated slab of steel. Also the bottoms of the motors are different.

From what ive been told...the motors on the HC were actually built by onyx. I'm not sure of the timeframe that onyx sold them, nor how correct that information was, since it didn't come from dave. Maybe he can inform us if RE did buy the motors from onyx, and if/when they were bought. (pre or post TC buyout). I will agree, they do look somewhat similar, but there are very striking differences that you should be able to see immediately upon looking at them.

The motors with the tapered edges are the defective Onyx motors from way back.
