i have owned cvr's and i've owned an l7. dont get me wrong, they're nice n loud but the sq is garbage. and if you want to argue... tell me how i could have made my L7 have great sound quality? i will give kicker amps props though, i probably wouldn't use any other amp (cept phoenix gold //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ).

SQ is very subjective, not as far as the butterworth alignment, and .707 but to each person, what may sound great, may not to another.

It really depends on power, and installation. But for most people, depending on size of driver, sealed offers the best SQ. Not a huge ported box with a billion watts.

So it's hard to say without knowing more specifics on your install and power, etc.

But in the right install, they do have great SQ.

The L7 has won in Grand Master SQ awards at Usaci the last three of the four years in cars.

Now not saying they are the best, because no woofer is the best, but installed correctly, they can have great SQ is all I was saying.

I was going to seal my box, i had a ported enclosure tuned to 32 htz. I believe it was 1 cubic foot. I don't remember, I sold it.

I had the KX600.1 powering it... those amps are underrated though and it did about 700 watts rms. I always thought about getting a second sub and a 800-1000 watt amp with a sealed enclosure. It was just cheeper to sell it and buy a better 12"

if you would have sealed it, depending on size of woofer, it would have sounded much better, sealed.
