15" L5 or L7

Hi,

I have a zx1500.1 Kicker mono amp...

Need to get TWO 15" 2 ohm subs.

So should i get two 15" L7 or 15" L7 to get maximum SPL?

Two 15" L7 at 2ohms seems a little overpowered for the zx1500.1......and two 15" L7 seems a perfect match.

So suggestions between the two please

Im not sure which is which, you put L7 for both of them. But 2 15" L7s would be underpowered with that amp. Id give em at least 1000w each. I have 2 12" L7s and i love em.

l5 = SQ

l7 = SPL

dual = SQL

i would go with the dual personally.

Go with the L7's..You will have extra headroom and they will be louder.

How louder? As a single zx1500.1 will be a little underpowered for two 15" L7.

Also the sensitivity of the L5 15" woofer is 90.4, whereas sensitivity of L7 15" is 89.3.

So logically.....if two 15" L5 are powered with single zx1500.1 at 2 ohms should be louder!

Any thoughts?

Buy the L7's so when you decide you want more sell the 1500.1 and get a 2500.1 lol

although yes it was a joke, i have read more than a few times that competitors have won SQ competitions with L7's and L5's.

That power won't do shit to two L7's.

go with the l5's everyone underrating those subs like hell man i dont know why. but they handle Tons of power. ive done multiple free air full tilt burps with my Soundstream AMp and the Coils on the subs took it just fine. only thing i did was seperate the spider from the basket from the weak stock glue that was used. i fixed the sub in less than 1 hr, after the aftermarket glue i used. l5's will rock! so far they taking my XXX 6500 daily wanging like an Champ! no sign of fatigue at all!

most people just post things with no experience with the equipment.

1 knowledgeable person says they **** and then 100 others who havent touched a piece of audio equipment agree. then 1 says they are the best and it goes back and forth.

actually i'm an installer at a kicker dealer, so i've heard plenty of l5 setups, although my experience with l7's is limited, i have heard them.

Go with the l7's. That amp should do fine for now.
