Here's the question guys as some of you know i currently have an h215" which is just not getting loud for me. Everyone suggestion was the amp grounded improperly. I re-ran my whole setup with 0 gauge and grounded 2500.1D directly to the frame. I was hitting 129 with the h2 and 145 with an HCCA 12d. It's still not getting loud for me. So here's the question. Of the above mentioned subs in the title (15" H2, 15" SI Magnum D2,15" Eclipse ti, 15" Adire Brahma,15" XXX) in a small enclosure about 3 cubes max Including port area. I have an h2 15 and an HCCA 12 (I can switch for another h2 15) and eclipse 15 ti which the eclipse and the HCCa have sounded the best so far. The other subs I have never heard or seen (the most exotic sub locally is an h2 or eclipse ti or jl w7, hell i mean only one shop locally caries orion and they can't build proper box's for it so they have all sounded bad they are now about to drop them as a line. So which would be best for my application which is a single cab 91 chevy truck with bucket seats. The largest box I have been able to fit is 6.1 cubes sealed. with one eclipse TI. My goal is to put two subs in the truck. I currently have one 2500.1D to use in the truck and am about to try and trade my two 1500.1D's back to DEI for another 2500.1 or else trade my JL 1000/1 for another 2500.1D to a friend. Considering two scenarios 1 sub up to 6 at most cubic feet powered by one 2500.1D vs 2 subs at most 3 cubes powered by up to two 2500.1D's. This will be in my daily driver / Show truck in progress. So it's something I need to have decent SQ primarily but some major SPL when needed. Also could anyone reccomend someone to build a box for this setup, I absoloutly **** with wood beond belief. Appriciate your guys help this is one of my first major installs. so far it's been like the //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/titanic.gif.8089b7552c370bcc138aa121756d0c0b.gif

You might be better just running one sub with the kind of space you've got. I'm not sure about the others but I know the magnum suggests 4 cubic feet and I would hazard a guess that the others are near the same. All things being equal you will see a 3 db gain (in general) by doubling your cone area. I'm thinking, by having an appropriately sized and designed box, you will see a greater gain than 3 dbs. As far as the subs I'm going to go out on a limb and say they'll only make a minimal difference. Look at efficiency, box size requirements, power handling and what best fits your application. They can all get very loud, and I'm assuming, at 145 dbs you don't really care about sound quality. Good luck.

I dont care what you say there absolutely has to be something wrong with your install for you to be hitting 129db with a orion h2 15 and a 2500.1d, it just doesn't make sense.

Honestly the h2 should get louder than all of these subs

Out of all those subs the h2 works the best in small ported enclosures. The mag, xxx, and ti all need 4^ft or more ported for their optimal enclosures.

Really before you spend anymore money you should go through your entire install and check everything to see if there is a problem somewhere. Because 129db is rediculously low for a h2 15 and 2500w. I just cant believe there isn't an error somewhere, good luck.

The only thing I have found was bad in my install was the grounding on the amp. Not a probelm anymore it's directly to the frame and the amps running fine not burning up like before. The sub gets distorted and then the voicecoil gets crunchy. If anyone could think of what the problem is please let me know If i could just get the h2 to work i would be extremely happy.

Actually the two local shops that havce any reputation one doesn't do metering or adjustments. The second is the one that I buy my orion from and I've delt with them for so long that they charge my cost on the items. This is actually the first system I've had a probelm with. I had an Eclipse 15" Ti hooked to a Viper 2500.1D ran @ 2 ohm and never had a problem at all. Ran it that war for 3 -4 months same wiring etc. Had to pull it out cause the viper was to much power for the eclipse and it over excoursed and the cone actually ripped through the surround. But it never blew etc. It was only rated for 750rms and 1500 peak. Took every bit of power that viper had and sounded great only two drawbacks for me was that it was 6.1cubes min and the recommended sweet spot for it was 10 with 3 4" ports Which was way out of my space range.

The H2 gave me eneough problems that it was installed in a box that was built by the orion dealer. but the ports etc seem off.

Eclipse Titaniums work well in small sealed enclosures, and actually for a 15" 3 cuft per sub would probabbly be very clear SQ wise. But actually if you want it to hit harder, I have my single Eclipse Ti 12 in a 1.7 cuft ported enclosure and it hits real hard and sounds good too. If you upgraded to 2 x 15" Eclipse Ti's ported 6cuft at 35hz it would probabbly be really sick - like competition SPL and daily driver clarity.

Thanks drjjg. Any clue how i should aim the box for the single cab truck? Orion has no reccomendations. They basically said make 10 box's different angles and just spend a week sliding it around the center of the cab and positioning it.

And danfortner 3 cubes? I was told it would blow holes in my surround do to excessive pressure to have a box that small for the eclipse.

General would two eclipse ti's hit as hard as 1 h2 15 in the same amount of space?
