i design boxes .......
my recone should be hear next week, and i wanna get started on the box. FI is getting me a recone kit and i will have no T/S specs so i'm kinda torn on the box size. what size box to these subs generally like? i'm guessing at about 4ft @ 38. does this sound good?

i'm glad i asked. i didn't know it was a low end monster. all i knew was that a 3hp is gonna be alot better than all the tc9 based subs that i have had. so my best bet would be 3.5-4ft @ 32?

between 3 and 3.5 should be pretty good for a daily driver... my neo is in 3.2 on 500 watts and loves it... make sure to give it an assload of port area tho
i've got 1500 to give it, i've got it drawn up at 3.5 @ 32Hz, w/ 56in port area. sound good? got any pics of the neo?

that sounds fine... ive ran up to 70in of port area without problems but 56 should move plenty of air...

anyways, on to the pics of the neos... ive owned 2, a lightning x2 neo motor (1.5 times stronger than the normal 3hp) and a neo proto i got a little while back (6 times stronger than the normal 3hp) only problem is that they WILL eventually get hot, no matter what you do

but i digress.

teh pixorz

the x2 motor w/ fi basket and recone (does that inverted dustcap look familiar to anyone? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif)

and then the neo proto with a black tc3000 top im in the process of trying to get a normal tc3000 motor for this so i can do quick swaps... i might even get a matching passive radiator for it (parkave???)

here is a comparison of the two motors... keep in mind that the little shiney ring is the actuall neo

you'd think that with how much smaller the moter is, they could put some cooling fins on it or something...kinda like the jbl gti subs. i wanna get me a neo motor. they look so cheap to the untrained eye //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i know i was thinkin about the cooling fins thing just the other day... if they didn then it might not look so much like a **** flower pot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

but yeah, they may look cheap but these things are real strong!
