lovely
I hit that yesterday with a set of fusion 12s and a RF T5002 amp in a prefab ported box in a 1989 2 door blazer.. only extra i have is a lil swiss audio line driver and a alphacell gel 180gxl battery.. I know car audio but i dont know numbers and whats worth a **** or not, so I was wanting some input on how decent that really is/isnt...

By the way let me add that I have maybe $500 max invested in everything:

$100 for subs

$40 for box

$17 for line driver

$160 for amp

$20 for headunit

$10 for front infinity ref6422cfp

$26 for rear kicker ks6930

$10 for audiobahn AT61 tweeters

$40 for Memphis 16-st2004 amp pushin 6x9s+tweets

$50 for extra battery

$40 for 25ft of 1/0 wire

$513 total, and just $300 for the subs+box+amp that hit a 142.1, is that not decent for the amount invested?

not bad not bad =P. i prob wont be anything near it but i wonder what my rex8 will hit. 4 of them off 900rms 35hz box. in the back of a camry. wish i knew someone with a termlab

ohh that cost me $40.. i did the first fun for $25 and got a 139.5 but i later realized one of the subs wasnt bolted securely to the box due to some screw head breaking so i went home and fixed it and did a rerun for $15 and hit that.. i wish i knew more about numbers because this was the first time to ever get my shit metered so i dont know what to compare it to.. all the other people i watched run were doing the port wars thing so ya cant really compare that to what i did.. id like to know some comprable scores are what they were attained with and how much money was thrown into it..

its gonna be hard to compare scores unless you find some one with the same type of set up and the same skill level. Some one that has been doing comps for awhile should be doing low 40's with allmost any thing, The score you did was pretty darn good for not being a system made souly to compete with.Oh and in a festiva a 143+ can be done with one 80 dollar 12" PR and any real 500 watt amp you want.

Psh that's weak. I hit 142.2 *****.

Haha just messin. Although I DID actually hit 142.2....lol. But yeah I have 2 12's as well. Definitely could hit better than that though....there were a lot of factors as to why I didn't do that well. But did you hit that on music? Or a burp?

nice scores man...I have a 89 2dr blazer as well....i've only metered two setups in it but not my new setup...first setup was 2 kicker cvr 15s on a hifonics 1508d and hit 141db on music then put a nightshade 18 and hit around 145s on music on same amp stock batt 4ga throughout...wasn't really tuned for spl so didn't get metered for it...was only tuned around 35hz for both setups....and the box was a little small for the cvrs and big for the nightshade (used the same box...lol) and port on wrong side...but now running the nightshade 18 in a smaller box and just got a gp3000dpro and couple batts and put in 2 runs of 1/0 so hope to have the setup ready for the next bossier/longview comp...wasn't able to make it to the one this past weekend cuz amp didn't make it here till yesterday. i have a couple vids of my old setups on youtube under 01ranga (use to have a reg cab ranger..lol) any pics or vids of your setup? also where did you run your 1/0 runs lol only spot i could find was on the passenger side floor where there's an oval like metal cap

had a single type R 12 hit 140.6 on music, at the dash, windows rolled up. i was tuned a tad high for daily music (40hz), i was running it off an old ppi pc2350, with nowhere near enough voltage available for it. voltage drops in to the nines. :crap:but it probably wouldn't be too hard to get 145 with a single R in a box tuned closer to my vehicle. i would say that isn't a bad score for what you paid for everything. in a box that sounded good on music though, they would likely struggle to get 139. prefabs are probably tuned in the 50's, so they are already in what resembles an spl enclosure.

mine was on random tunes and the meter in the passenger floor with doors closed and windows up.. this box is tuned in the 40s which is my main problem, and $300 for the subs+box+amp isnt too much in any way, a single Type R 12 costs $229 at best buy, im sure you can get em for half but thats just an example.. either way thanks for the input
