well i just bought 4 10" Hifonics Brutus square subs

i'm waiting on my Elevation Audio DX1500.1 amp 1500 at 1 ohm

i'm gonn put the subs in 5 cubes tuned to 38 hz its in an 01 pontiac bonneville trunk car FTL anyways you think i can break 140 with this setup?

It's a possibility, but like Colt said, it's all in the install. A trunk car set up is one of the hardest kinds to get loud. I've seen guys with a sealed off trunk and a pair of 10's break 140, but that was with the seat folded down and more than 1500 watts with the box and port facing the opening and then the enclosure was totally sealed off the trunk. I'm not gonna guess and say you can't do it, but good luck anyway.

I saw an SUV a couple weeks ago with 4 12's and a couple thousand watts in a sweet fiberglassed enclosure and he couldn't break the 140 mark, even with opening his window(outlaw style), so you never know what your gonna hit until you try it and test it.

Should be no problem as long as you dont choke the shit out of the subs and know what you are doing.

My bro hit almost 145 with a single 12 and 2000 watts in a trunk car although that was outlaw style.

they require 1.25 cubic feet minimum with four of them at 5 cubic feet it should be ok they are gonna be slightly underpowered but i think the cone area will make up for it

As long as the sound is able to get in the vehicle it should be ok. Are they going to be facing back or front? Ported or sealed?

i'm thinking subs up port to the front right in the middle to match up with the small hole in the seats that folds down with the arm rest

You will break a 140 at the dash unless your enclosure is an absolute mess.

And to the poster who said that a guy couldnt break a 140 outlaw in an SUV with 4 12's and 2000 watts is an absolute retard or there was something wrong with the mic.

I could break a 140 outlaw in an SUV with one 10'' and 500 watts, that is embarassing.

Nothing wrong with my Termlab meter, he just built a box for style not SPL and never tested it before. He'll be over 140 next time. The first time I competed I did a 142.9 on the dash and a 144.2 outlaw with a single 12" Kicker CVX and 750 watts, so yeah if your set up is right you can break 140's, but not everyone can get the right set up.

lol i've been into car audio for a while and know the basics i dont think i'm the shit or anything but i'm far from a noob its just that since i live in a hick town i've never got the chance to get any of my systems metered so i don't really know how loud 140 is
