Alright i wanted to go with Brahmah or RE XXX, but i cannot get a hold of them and do not want to have to send away in case my sub busts or anything. As much as I hate the price of JL, they do make quility products, so heres the issue. I am going to get my system done on wednesday at Mobile Sound Waves, and im wondering if I should get:

-1 13W7 in a ported box with a JL 1000/1 amp

-3 12W6V2's in a sealed box with a JL 1000/1 amp (or a better amp, suggestions?)

-3 10W7's in a sealed box with a Visonik 900XD amp

I do not have too much experience with these particular subs, so give me all of your opinions on these three options. Which will be the loudest, which will sound the best, which will hit the highest DB's (I dirve an Audi A4, and yes, all of these options will fit) which will be powered the best my the amps, and so on. Im getting this done in two days so please reply if you know anything at all, it would really help!

OK thanks for your input, but those are the three options im looking at, I talked to a guy whos really really knows his s***, he did mike vicks subs as well as almost all the Falcons in ATL, and hes been in Car Audio magazines and stuff, and those are the options we talked about and he thought would work good. But now i need your guys input on which one of those three would work best, I know the 3 10W7's and 3 12W6V2's would be a little under powered but does that matter too much? And he said that 13W7 would bump the f*** out of my A4, hittin amost 150 DB. So give me your opinion on THESE 3 OPTIONS please, and hurry cause ive got like 24 hours to decide!

Again, look close...

my opinion is the same as number two, only that the subs are in a ported box, not sealed.

I know the W6v2 as an SPL driver, so why waste it in a sealed box? Besides, ported boxes will allow you to power the subs with less power than sealed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oooo...I see what you mean. Yeah if I could I would port those 3 12W6V2's and then ****.... but I dont have the room, which is a problem, I am barely able to fit in the three 12's as it is in my trunk, it is only an Audi A4. So putting aside that I cannot change any of the box conditions, which option?

the LOUDEST might be the 2nd option (again), due to cone area... i could be wrong.

Best SQ might be the 13W7...

btw, not too many faulty Adire, RE or ED products I've heard so far. Runing the subs via wrong installation yes, but most of the companies would test every sub prior to shipment, so you have less chance of getting a DOA sub...

Maybe your not understanding. You can reduce the number of subs if you port the box. Technically speaking two 10w7's ported would be louder than three sealed 10w7's. Same would hold true for the 12w6v2's. Would also be cheaper as well, but you don't really sound like that's an issue.

If you can easily afford the 1000/1 I'd get that no matter what. It will come in handy. But in the end, my choice would be the 13w7 in the ported box. You get loud, clean sound as well as the "wow" factor for having only 1 sub. Of course, you'd stand little chance against my eD15A.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

What do you have or what are you getting as far as fronts?

Yeah I know what your sayin about having less subs in a ported box. I know jsut about everything there is to know about subs im j/w which of these setups would sound best from people with experience in dealing with these. And money is an "issue", if you call $2800 an issue. But i cannot go over that amount. Plus i need a head unit, i got the new blue faced alpine with the internal EQ so ti will sound real clean. Right now ive got *wince* bose speakers in my car, so i'll have a halfway ghetto system until the end of summer when I can get more $. Anyway keep the opinions comin im still short on time.

hmmm i cannot say for sure cuz i have never heard an A....but for some reason I highly doubt a ed15a could keep up with a 13w7. Especially not in the SQ area.

I also doubt that an A would be louder and sound better than a W7. The JL would take the ED IMO... although they are both excellent drivers.

And as for my opinion, everyone else is not sticking to the original question. He wants to know which of the three you would choose, not what you would do instead. I would get the single 13W7. That will give plenty of SPL, especially in a smaller car like an Audi and the SQ will be unbelievable if installed correctly.

Yes, I'd say give your opinion on these three setups at least before giving your alternative opinion. My pick was also for the 13w7.

Basically, I'll put it like this. If you spend $2,800 and aren't even getting front speakers or a front amp, your getting ripped off. So like I originally suspected your paying full price for these speakers and amps.

So in reality, your missing another point of boards like these. Shops throw a bunch of equipment at you and say "do this." While here, we first ask, "what is your goal, budget and how much room are you willing to sacrifice?"

I got my whole setup for around that $2,800 budget. That includes twin Kicker L7's, MB Quart Q-series components, Pioneer Premier 940mp head unit and Precision Power PCX1500 and PCX2125 amps to power it all. Even got the wiring and install for free! Originally I was to be charged $4,200 plus the cost of labor and wiring (which would have came to over $400 extra dollars). This board gave me the strength and the knowledge to say "no way, I can get this stuff way cheaper off the internet." I broke down what I would pay on the internet, and he tacked on like 15% over that price, which was more than a fair price in my opinion. Coming to a board like this is supposed to be an eye opening experience, if your not looking for that then just stick with whatever the dealer thinks is best. Mind as well, your probably going to anyways.
