12w7 vs 13w7

my friend has a 12w7 with a 500/1 jl amp and i have a 13w7 with a 1000/1 amp, and for some reason my sub seems weaker?? i have the control knob for sq and when i even crank it up a decent amount its still not as strong? could it be that the grand marquis is more sound deadening than his mustang or when he had it in his explorer? or what else could it be

wow, a wedge makes a big difference. Is there a vent looking thing in his box, and yours is completely sealed? If you dont understand that then shoot yourself

ya but i wouldnt think that would make such a dramatic difference with 1000/1 amp comparing to his, and the slightly bigger sub, it actually feels weak compared to his which is so strong that without maxing it you cant even hear anything besides the subwoofer
