12W7 Amp

I got a friend that needs a new amp for his 12W7. He doesnt wanna blow 750 on a new JL1000/1 and a kicker or a orion would be fine. he just needs a amp that will push it and i know the 3 ohm impeadance complicates things. what do you think?

honestly bro spending the money on the 1000/1 would be your best bet...you can easily get the amp for way cheaper if you just shop around. i got a 10W7 with a 500/1...i wouldnt get another amp to replace it.

I use the 1000/1 with mine. It's a good amp. I'd really advise buying authorized. I know it's expensive but it's worth it. Sorry guys, but it's not worth it...Paying that much for an amp to put out 1kwrms is NOT worth it. There are tons of other amps that'll do that much just as well for 1/2 that price...

Fine isnt good enough for every1. Let him get the JL 1000/1 bc I kn for a fact it is going to work out better than anything else.

He ended up getting a Hifonics BXI1606D and is extremely happy with it. JL amps are not magical, they are good quality amps but $300 more for the brand name is not worth it in my book.

thats weak... what is that amp doing at 3 ohms? like 500 watts? you can easily put 1k on a 12w7

it puts out about 800 considering hifonics are over rated, but not by that much. Its in a sealed enclosure and he really doesnt need 1000 watts. And his electrical is stock so it works great without putting strain on the alt, batt, or the amp.
