12V DC Negative Ground System?

I was reading the instructional manual of HU

and it states that it was designed to work with

a 12V DC negative ground electrical system. Is

this something special that I need for my car

or can I still just ground it to the chassis of my car?

I have Nissan which has no grounding cable

so I'm not quite sure what to do... =/

All it means is that your chassis is grounded with the - side of the battery. Some systems are run in reverse where ground is + (99% of cars not in this category)

some Old "antique'' cars have positive ground systems. It is nothing to worry about these days no one uses positive ground systems anymore.
