12 volt for relay

hi i'm hooking a relay up to turn on my amp. I'm planning on hooking:

85 to the power antenna lead

86 to a ground

87 to the amps remote turn on

30 to the 12 volt

If this is correct my question is fo the 30 to get the 12 volt can i hook that to the constant power terminal on my amp. i fugre the 12 volts from my bat is going to that so it could also send 12 volts to the relay which will then power the remote turn on

I think you have your 86 and 85 connections reversed. I did this recently.

Yeah, you can attach to the amp's connections just fine... it's all about having a power source, just make sure it's all tight and not liable to come loose.

Terminals 85 and 86 are reversible as long as you don't have a relay with a diode. If you just have a standard Bosch type relay, wiring it either way will be fine.

Oops, yeah, guess you're right... the coil just needs the switched source and the ground....
