I know this is a little off topic but i want to install another 12 volt accessory outlet under the dash to have my gps semi-permanently in my car. (where the orginal one is now i want to just use for lighting my ciggerettes) But anyways can some one explain how to wire it or where to get a simple wire diagram? ..(is it just as simple as neg to chasis and pos to battery?)

Note:

I don't want to use an adapter like this - http://www.amazon.com/12-Volt-Outlet-Splitter-Turn-into/dp/B001KS94OO

I would suggest doing what I did and simply locate a circuit in the fuse block in the dashboard and tap into that.
