12 TC9 power handling

Hey guys I am picking up a 12" TC9 in a slot port box and I am not too farmiliar with the TC9. I see it can handle 2400 watts max and 800 rms but are they over/under rated for power? I am looking to run a WCC5000D to it but I dont want to blow the snot out of it. I realize it will do 5000 watts "if lightning strikes" but it puts out some decent power rms. Think it should be okay if I keep the amp tuned a bit low?

You'll be safe with 800-1200rms just fine. I would go beyond that though.
