Which do you guys think would be a better buy, diamond tdx or soundsplinter rl-p? I know the soundsplinters get alot of talk on here but not much for the tdx? I would be sending about 900 rms to it once i get my new amp...And how would both of these subs compare to my one 12w6v2?

I bet there arent many who can give an answer because they havent heard both subs side by side - I myself have only heard TDXs,and I was comparing them to W7s

which IMO the smoked, which is not so hard to do with whats out on the market these days

I have heard both subs but never side by side or back to back. I am impressed with the Diamond audio TDX though it was stupid clear the SQ was amazing. The spl of the sub was decent but it's not a spl sub. It's more of a SQL sub. Both the Diamond and the RLP were ported though so your result may be different. I know the guy said the TDx's box was tuned to like 28 HZ. O it was so nice. The RLP sounded great but my boy is a installer and heel make anything sound great in his car. The RLP 's were 2 12' ported and they had good SQ not the same as the TDX though. But the RLP had a very hard hitting kinda bass. There both good subs you cant go wrong with either but if it were me I would get the TDX in a ported enclosure tuned low like 28 HZ and get a DIAMOND AUDIO D6 amp to match the sub

If you want ideal accuracy, you don't want to port at all. Sealed will easily get you flat response to below 20Hz in a car with just about any subwoofer. That's why it is rather foolish to use a ported box thinking you are gaining extension, since in fact you are losing quite a bit of it, and trading it for a peak in the 30-40Hz range in most cases.

The TDX is a decent driver, as is the Rl-p. The Rl-p does outdisplace it by a decent margin.

I'd probably get the Rl-p, personally, though both drivers are fairly good.

Regardless of which you get, if you actually want ACCURATE music reproduction, don't port them.

In a ultimatum like this where two subs perform nearly identical, I would go with the sub that has better service/ warranty and whatnot.

In this case I say go with the RL-P since they have unbeatable customer service. Mike, head of SS will answer anything and quickly I might add.
