12" TC-9 vs. 2 10" TC-1000

I would imagine probally the 2 10"s because of more surface area?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Definitely the 10s. The TC-9 is more of an Sq sub, and has less cone area. Not saying the TC9 can't put out some noise, but if you're going for numbers, the 10s would be better sealed.

Now if the TC9 was ported vs the TC1000s sealed, it'd be a different story.

I know i've heard 1 12" is almost equivalent to 2 10's, but I'd go with the 10's b/c the 10's have 24mm of xmax as opposed to 18mm for the tc-9, but the tc-9 would get lower considering the copper voice coil rather than the aluminum voice coil on the 1000's. IMO i'd go with the 2 10's b/c if you ever want more, the 2 could take more power than the 1 tc-9

2 12s have roughly the same cone area as 3 10s. The TC9 might have better SQ than the TC1000s, but the 10s will still get lower because of more cone area.
