12" RE XXX 07' amplifier Suggestions

Alright so I got a Re XXX and I need an amplifier. I was thinking on getting something on the cheaper side like a Hifonics Brutus Bxi-2008D amp(2000@1ohm). I really dont want to spend aboce $400. If I were to get a bxi-2608d(2600@1ohm) would that be 2 much power? What would be the true amount of RMS of the bxi2008d and bxi2608d amps? How much can a 12" 2007 model RE XXX handle?

from what i've seen and heard the xxx does well with about 1200-1800w and if u get a brutus should be closer to the high end of that range so it should work well. for 400$ though you can get some really nice amps to power it.

um you wanna throw that sub around 2500 wrms.......1200-1800 is for the older models.....the new ones need more power than that too reach their full potential..................

Well my friend...I too have a 2007 RE XXX 12".

I personally think 2600RMS is too much...as I put a Sundown 3000D on it and wired it to 1 ohm. WAY to much power for that subwoofer. It did not like it at ALL.

I took it out, re-wired the subwoofer to 4 ohm, and let it see about 800-1000 watts and for that amount of power....sweet jesus...its off the chain loud.

I think the most power I'll ever put to one would be about 1700-1900 watts, as they only need small boxes to get loud and dont require a lot of power to do it.

My opinion though...You bought an awesome subwoofer, but want to go cheap on the amplifiers...they would work though, but you can find better for the money.
