12" or 18"

I've had my Fi Q 12" /w BP for about a year now and have loved every moment i've shared with it. But I think it's time for an upgrade. Since I recently got a 1600RMS 2ohm amp would there be much difference going from my 12" to say an 18" Q /w BP? I want to sell my 12" and get a bigger sub but I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Thoughts?

It should be a huge SPL improvement considering that you're more than doubling your surface area.
