Indeed...I love my 15 because it really hammers the crap outta the lows, unlike most 12's ive owned.
15's if you have the room and power, but a 15", with insufficient power or the wrong enclosure, a 12" will be louder. But if done right, given the same power, usually a 15" will be louder.
Sure you can.. its just a matter of how skilled you ware with glass and how much space you wanna give up! Hell.. If i made a mockup to simulate 4 18s in my car, whose max box width is 36" at the widest point of the car... and actually find a way to fit the 18's (but I dont have enough volume... its my 240 in my sig).. then you can too!15" because I can't fit 18's in my current vehicle...
thats all about the install. i can make a 15 "punch" more then a 10 or the other way around. i think that steri type comes from that fact that most of the time 15's are installed in very loud spl sql geared cars and trucks where are the 10 or 12s is much more widly used in many diffferent installs. in the end no mater what size the sub if it is installed well its a toss up as to which is "punchy" and which is notIsn't there a difference in the "punchiness" of the 15 versus the 12? I thought a lot of people perfered 12s because they sound a little more punchy. Or am I totally wrong.
