12" or 10"

HI
I'm planning on installing a single 12" re audio se in my truck. My worries is loudness. the only system I've listened to is my own...which was a 12" kicker L7 in a nissan sentra and I thought that was loud enough but definitely not deep enough. But now, the sub will be directly in the same cabin as me. How much more of an affect will it have? Should I even be worried? Will it actually sound better? Or, maybe I should go with a 10" instead? Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

if by deeper you mean lower then i think a diff box would have more of an effect than a new sub.. an l7 should hit lows fine in a good box.. how big is the box and what is it tuned at?

1 cubic sealed box stuffed with polyfill. but I'm not gonna use that sub anymore, I've already decided to buy the 12" re audio se. I'm just worried that now the sub will be in the same cabin as me and will be probably be a bit louder. In other words, will a 12" be overkill? My old car was a sentra now I have a truck.

i had a 12" Infinity Perfect in a 93 Sentra (old car) and when i moved it into my 03 Escape it sounded much cleaner, but not really louder.

It was in the same box in both cars, off same power (1ft^3 sealed off 400w rms).

hope that helps...

any quality sub will hit lows in the right box. even an 8 can get low. it's the box. it's the box. it's the box........................did i mention, it's the box.

yes. and ported will give u much better lows IF the box is made well

if you are concerned about how low your music hits...i know i am for sure

dont even think twice about a 10" go for the 12

of course you can make a 10" play pretty **** low in the proper box...but think

of what you could do with the 12

what can you do with a 12, that a 10 can't do? personally, i prefer a nice powerful 10 over a 12 any day, because of box size. you need a little more power with a 10, to achieve the same potential (box, box, box makes more difference), but they can get just as loud, and just as low as a 12. sometimes i wonder how many people have actually heard a good single ported 10 setup.
