12" Mag d2 or an 15" 05 XXX?

Well, i got my mag d2 (newer one) installed a few days ago, and i love the sound. But jman might be willing to trade me his 15" 05 XXX for the mag.

Mag is a 12"

XXX is a 15"

Will both be off a sundown saz 1500.

Let me know what you guys think.

I don't think you could go wrong either way. Is going through the trouble of swapping drivers worth it to you. I mean, if you're satisfied with the Mag, there is the chance you wont like the XXX then you're kinda stuck.

If you do decide on the xxx, you need a good front stage, the xxx doesn't play above 63ish hz very well, it's a limiting factor with xbl motors or some of them anyway.

if i were you id keep the mag, my 15 was the best sounding sub ive heard.... does extremely well in my home theater now that its out of my car

i got a 15" mag, my friend has 15" xxx from either 04 or 05. his is off roughly 2k watts. mine is off roughly 1.8k or so.

output = easily the xxx

soundquality = last i remember he liked mine for sq. i think the mag has the edge as well.

could be install dependent, but his hits the lows with more authority and is overall louder. depends on what you want. an easily powered woofer that sounds **** good but not quite as loud. or a loud woofer that sounds **** good as well but needs more power, but gets louder. again, this could be an install problem ( i doubt it) but thats my .02

the thing about the mag is that idk how well its gonna handle 1500-1800w off a sundown.

I know the xxx can handle that all day long.

Any more suggestions?

nick from SI suggested running the saz 1500 on his magnums...

i run a 20.1 on mine, gains set to roughly 1800w using a 50hz -6 db tone, and been just fine.

i tihnk ill keep my mag, too much of a great sub to get rid of, besides im in canada so shipping would ****....then i would have to find another sub for ht..
