12" dual 4 ohm Kicker CVR subs

I've got two of the 12" dual 4 ohm Kicker CVR subs in a slot ported box configured as a single 4 ohm load. I am driving them with a 500 watt RMS @ 4 ohms amp. Is that too much power or will they run fine at a full 500 watts?

aren't those 400watt rms each?

if so, then it should be your last worry if your gain is set right

I only turned it up during my lunch break to test them. Handled everyhing I threw at them quite nicely. I have the gain set for the subs to fill in where the door speakers leave off. I do have a remote boost knob that I turn up when I want to hear the subs beat.
