I bought these and then when i took my boxes out of my truck, i dropped one and busted it pretty good. Since I have to rebuild anyway, I'm doing a single 12" ported setup.

These subs have not even come out of the packaging. I paid $280 shipped and I'm hoping for $250 back. I go to school in Ny and live in Maryland so I'll drive anywhere around there or in between (Nj, De) to try to avoid shipping costs.

Will accept trades for 1000-1200w rms amp, OR

Fi Bl, Q, SSD

Keep in mind, my subs are brand new, yours is used. That's cool though. If you plan on selling that, you should really try to find out what else was done to your sub. All i can tell is you have about a $100 driver but i can't tell what else is completing the sub. Because of that, your sub is really only worth about $100 (if it were new) to another buyer. Any reason you chose Dave to build your sub? I believe he is more of an SPL guy and you had him build you an SQ sub. Let me know if you still want the Diymas though.

I've never heard of that (i dont know much about car audio) but i will look into it. I have really been looking for a Fi 12 but we'll see. I am headed out the door and won't be back till tomorrow evening so i won't be getting back to you right away

You don't know much about car audio, yet what he has told you isn't enough info. I'm lost, but anyway, I think pm's would have been more effective.

Something just totally seems off. That TC9 is worth just as much if not more than both of your DIYMA's. Not putting them down or anything, just the goin prices. Learn the search button, TC9's are the building block for a TON of top notch woofers and worth alot more than $100 used //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hitbybrick.gif.68a672fae224041f00769a97c2c1bf2d.gif

Just callin it like I see it

If you actually read my first post, you would see that this woofer has never been installed. it was built, sent to me, and has been sitting since. Basically a new SoundSplinter RL-p (that's the actual woofer the motor came from) and worth the same amount in my book. SoundSplinter and the SSA shop sell them for $295. Dave has also built and sold a bunch of TC9-based woofers, many of them on this forum. Anyone who has bought one of his woofers will tell you he knows what he's doing.

But whatever. I gave you as much information as you would get researching any other woofer. I guarantee you don't know all the specifics about each part that is in the DIYMAs, yet you still bought them.

At this point, I'm done with this deal. It would have been fun to play with the DIYMAs, but the trade definitely isn't worth the hassle of trying to convince you. Plus, I'd incur about $45 in shipping costs, so...

Good luck anyway. I hope nobody comes in and asks you how many ribs are in the DIYMA spiders or what the inner diameter of the coil is between wires?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

OneKrazyKeebler, I personally know very little. This is actually how I ended up with the DIYMAS. On another site, i posted my goals for a system (basically an SPL setup) and I was recommended the DIYMAS. In a rush to build my system, I went with that recommendation and bought them. Shortly there after, a guy that has been in the car audio world for a while gave me the run down and let me know that these DIYMAS are an SQ sub and not at all what I'm looking for in achieving my goals. Anyway, I've never heard of TC until now so I went to the same guy. Basically anything I said, i regurgitated from him but I did not feel like saying "xxx says..." every time. Make sense?

Hintzyboy, I in no way meant to offend you. I reread my post and see how you might have read it with a different tone, but that's not what I meant. I'm sure you have a great sub and "xxx says...." that your sub would probably be great for my application, but as is, there are too many unknowns so there is risk on my part (or any buyers). Know what I mean? And yea, I forgot your sub is new as well. Hard to remember everything.

Now, CTMIKE, where in Ct are you? mapquest to 10465. Maybe we can cut out shipping by meeting somewhere. If I incur the shipping expense, I would profit about $70 probably. Being that I paid $140 for one (which is what you will pay too, I checked) I'm taking a 50% loss on a sub I have not touched.

I would offer to you basically a 10% discount which is $125. However, if you meet me somewhere nearby, I'll bring it down to $115 which is $25 off DIY's price or 18% off.

Shipping isnt free from there. totals up to 139.20

And yea, no kidding about needing to research more but I just pissed off two people trying to get more info on the TC9

from what i've read TCsounds drivers are a pretty common drivers used by different companies other than TCsounds. get me? kind of similar to Seas/Vifa/Scan Speak when it comes to mids. someone please correct me if i'm wrong here. I personally will be comparing a TC3000/Fi hybrid 12" built for SQ to a DIYMA 12" soon. reason: it bothers me that i need to have an enclosure that takes up my whole trunk space.

its cool man, just kinda threw me for a loop when I read it and had to say something

BTW: How dare you speak of the TC9 in such a meaningless way? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
