Which should I purchase for my next sub...

2cubic foot box tuned to 40 hz

CAn give at most 3000watts rms from a earthquake amp at 2ohms.

I'd pick tha HD3.. but that's me. I'm not big on ridin' bandwagon c o c k, either.. so, I'm 'biased' I suppose.

Plus, DD & AQ subs like 40hz tuning.

yeah 40hz would be better tuning for the AQ. By the way theres a bunch of threads on here of this exact comparision so try searching

HD3 would be very nice off of 3k of clean power...

Well i figured 40hz cause i like it loud as crap but i dont always play it loud as crap, also i just figured 30 is really low and the shop i help out usally doesnt tune ne box to under 35hz so i thought 40 would sound nice.

35 hz is fine...

40 seems high to me, but hey, its whatever you want... (just fyi, alot of rap plays below 40hz, so you might bottom out)

so i should shoot for 35 then? i liosten to a lot of everything but rap mostly. SO if i ran my port at 2in tall by 14.25 wide i should have it around 20in into the box right. Its a 2 cubic foot box

It can still play lows, just not as good as a lower tuned box. 25-30 hz, I see him having a problem with.

so 35hz is my target then right? Im not looking at hurting the sub I would just like some nice loud music. So ill shoot for 35 then and I will see how the sub handles. WIll i have a lot of port noise or should i be fine on that. port dimensions would be 2in tall x 14.25in wide x 20in long. Should i excpect a lot of noise or not really anything?

35hz is too low for HD3's and if you dont belive me ask DJ. Anything below 40hz and the sq will go to crap. The HD is a low end monster and you wont be dissapointed at 40hz.

well i just put my box to 40 hz and im waiting for a reply on an email to AQ and then i will be ordering my sub sometime tonight i hope it doesnt take a long time to ship cause i want to hear this whats the break in time for one of these

and it sounds very good (to me) daily. i have never heard a BTL so i can't comment, but i haven't found a downside to my HD3.
