ok i read alot in the fourm about the new L7's but ive had a prob. i had the 15" i ran it a 2ohms to a old school RF 1000.1BD the darker gray one with the red emblem(next years was light gray blue emblem) umm... i can tell i abused it and it blew so i said shit i'd like to go back to 12" so i got 2 12" L7 d2 on the same amp and they sound awsome there in 2cubes eack ported at 30hz , sound great to me but get hotter then hell why? i dont want these to blow i like them why do they get hot?

p.s. the 15" it didnt fully blow but the spider ripped from the cone still made noise though

As long as your gains are set correctly, I wouldnt worry about them getting hot.

you mean the cone itself get's hot? if so, coil is extrermely hot...

yes the cone is getting hot the mag and vc are really hot burning my hand hot

set your gain with a dmm?

you arent really overpowering them imo. i had the grey/blue amp youre talkign about and to me it seemed easy to overset the gain.. even though the birthsheet said over 1000 rms, it didnt really seem like it. i found myself using more gain and bass boost than i would have liked to.
