hey guys, im looking at getting either a JL 10w7 with the jl 500x1 amp or a 12 w7 with the 500 x1 amp....which way will get a better sound and louder bass?

i would suggest getting the 12 and bigger amp. but if you're dead set on the 500, get the 10.

im not dead set..i just dont think its worth the other $600 for what i want..

you will definately be happier with the 12 and proper power, but the 10 with 500 shouldn't disappoint. honestly, has anyone ever said "man, this is just too much sub for me. i should have gone smaller..." not anyone i know. unless they are lying in a for sale ad. it just depends on what you can afford. the 10 is a very capable driver though.

and how would the 10 or 12 on the 500 compare to an alpine typeX on a v12 1000 watt amp?
