10w7 ported. Good SQ?

I already have the drivers at my disposable so looking at other subs isn't an option right now. I've heard a 10w7 in HO box before and it got loud but never heard a 10w7 in a right enclosure for SQ purposes. If built correctly would a 10w7 in a ported box attain me good SQ? I can only have 1 driver and I'm looking for it to get somewhat loud as well. I have about 800-900w at 3ohm load to work with.

chances are very very low........... they are designed for spl where as my MBs are designed for SQ, i cant even put mine in a ported enclosure.... sounds like shit im guessing youll have the same problem, best i could say is put it in a cuf sealed box and hope for the best maybe even 1.5 or 1.75

Yes you can port it and get decent SQ from that sub.

Try a 1.75ft^3 at 28hz box.

he is talking about a jl sub not an mb. the w7 is NOT an spl sub and you should be able to put yours in a properly designed and tuned ported box.

the w7 will sound very good ported, just keep the tuning below 35hz(i like 33 hz) and you should have good results.
