10w1v2 ported vs sealed 10w6v2

Will a sealed 10w6 have more output than a 10w1 ported...I've already got 2 10w1's ported in another vehicle and they're not quite loud enough...the w6's will be sharing a 1000 rms.

I know the w6's will sound better,but will they be substantially louder?

Why not just try it first? Nobody is going to give you a concrete answer because we can only guess. BTW, w6's sound ****ing good.

The boxes will be custom fiberglass...The sealed box would be small enough to easily flush into the side of the car...The ported box will take a little more work and won't fit quite as nice, but will definately have more output...This is why I can't just try it.

My cousin have a single ported 15 I don't really know what brand/model, my pair of 10w6v2 sealed off a 700 watts can keep up with his in output, but KILLS him in sq.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Said screw the 10's...I'm going to cram a sealed 12W6V2 in each corner...Should sound great and go like hell when I need it to...I know it won't be crazy loud, but thats ok...I'm thinking a 1000RMS/pair, what would be overkill, being that there in a fairly small sealed box, they should handle quite abit more power...What would be enough without being overkill...1500RMS???

I think you should go with 1 12W6V2 ported.

Those 12's need a good deal of air space. Mounting depth is like 7". As for the amp, I would either do a 500/1 or a 1000/1. Going past 1200 RMS is stupid. I had 2 - 12W6v2's on a 1000/1 and they sounded amazing.

I think you should go with 1 12W6V2 ported.

Porting a w6 is ghey, imo. If you're going to port then get a sub that's more suited for a ported box.
