10's, 12's...?

im thinking about getting 2 10'' L7's..i want low and loud subs but i dont know if i want 12's...would 2 10' L7s play low and loud, or would 2 10 l5's play just as good...ill have the amp to match either one, but i like having 10's and people not thinking their gonna be loud then their suprised from a couple 10's

If you're looking for the lows, a set of 12's of the same drivers will definitely get lower than a set of 10's of the said driver.

12's - tons more cone area

And were you asking two 12L5's vs two 10L7's ?

More cone area will give the potential to get louder but that is all. Larger drivers don't necessarily play lower.

A good pair of 10's on a nicely built ported enclosure should do pretty good.

Bigger subs will tend to go 'lil lower but I don't think that is THAT much of a difference.

yeah i had 2 infinty references 10's in aported box and for what they were, they hit hard...then they were stolen..box sub amp everything... i havent had nething since the beginning of summer and i kind of want to build the box myself and get evetything myself now.. i had a buddy build my box before..but yeh i like the looks on peoples faces when they see their 10's..not 12's or 15s lol..i kinda like L5s but i dunno..i want to hit low and hard for not too much..around 500 or less on subs, amp
