Hey guys, I have some polk ex3's that are rated at 60RMS and an amp that is rated at 100rms X2 and a pioneer 860mp that is supposed to do 25W rms. Should I run the speakers off the HU or hook them to the amp? I'm just wondering if running 40 watts more than it's rarted for is a problem. I'll be installing them in the front doors of a 02 focus sedan. Thanks guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i had 100rms per channel amp driving 35rms coaxes- you'll be fine, carefully set your gains
No, he better be VERY careful. Dont want to go crazy and screw up your speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Yeah...just set the gain correctly (maybe a little conservatively) and listen for the speakers to start sounding stressed, and you'll be fine. As Jmac said; they'll let you know when they aren't happy with the power.

Ok, sounds good. I'm not motovated enough to install another amp and door speakers myself, so looks like i'm going to get ahold of my installer. Thanks for the advice guys.
