1000 Watts - 2 12's?

My friend is about to get two 12's. He is going to be running between 800-1200 watts...probably off an AQ1200. I don't want him to run MTX's..just because I think there are better subs out there for the money.

I have never looked at 500 RMS subs - so I don't know which are great. Only option I can think of is the audioque sd2.5's.

What should I reccomend - I think he is looking for SQL...but he's coming from two sony xplodes and he didn't mind those so I don't think he'd know the difference. So moreso SPL oriented would probably be fine as long as they handle kick drums well.

What do you think?

Alright guys. Yes, he is set on two 12's. I tried to convince him into one 15", but he says he doesn't have the money for a nice box. He wants two 12's sealed. Somewhere between 200-300 for both.

Ebay has two RE SE's for 300. I don't know where to get the M3's, or the price range. Any other options?

In the right box, I'd say so...not sure if your sarcastic. lol. I already convinced my other friend with the new XB to get an 18 Q. I'm pretty excited to install that. It will be his first sub...he's in for it! How do you like yours?

I haven't built the box for it yet.. So I havent heard how it sounds yet... I was wondering if anyone with prior experience with it would know if it was a SQL type sub!

Well...I have a 15" mag. And the mag is very similar to the Q. And it is what defines SQL. So I would say yes, it is a SQL sub.

how about a pair of diamond d3s? they should have good spl in a ported setup.
