1000 watt amp on 8 guage wire?

Sort of.

I'm only going to be running the amp at 4 ohm and it's a 1 ohm amp that produces 1000 watts rms @ 1 ohm. Is that cool? It's just a temp install.

it should work fine at 4 ohm it should be about 250 rms .....

thing is...it's already wired.

pretty sure its 8 gauge....

remember, its a 1000 watt amp but its only going to be running at 250 rms/4 ohms.

i don't know...ill hold off, maybe. if i start a fire, oh well. i got insurance.

I ran a rf 1000.1 bd amp and a 65 by 4 amp on 4 gauge wire with no problem.

should be ok at that ohm load. shit the power acoustik 5500w amp only accepts 4awg LOL.. and thats supposed to do 3200@1
