I wired my two Alpine 12" type R dual 4 ohm subwoofers to 1 ohm final impedance to my Precision Power PPI P1000.1 which is 1000 watts RMS at 14.6 volts. So I can safely say that each one of my subs is getting 500 watts?
So my poor little 1000.1 is getting pushed hard, seeing how each one of my subs will **** 1000 watts. I'm thinking about getting a bigger sub amp here in the near future but I would like to stick with PPI...any suggestions on a good mix for this set up 2-12" DVC Alpine type R series? Like I said. ..I would like to stick with PPI, Soundstream maybe but iam open to any suggestions.
Generally, its better to have headroom than an over-worked amp. As long as your voltage stays up and you dont crank the gain, bass boost, etc., it should be fine. That line is pretty solid. What model are the alpines (year)? Specs on the enclosure?
