10" vs 12"

I would like to get 1 good sub to but in my 06 F-150 regular cab. I have been looking at the AA Arsenal line of drivers. How would someone choose between a 10" or a 12"? Is it primaraly a box size consideration, or does it have to do with the frequencys (SP?) that they reproduce?

Thanks

Curtis

Well considering that AA does not have any 10" Arsenals in stock you might go for the 12.

I got one of their last 2 10" Assassins because I they were all out of the arsenal 10"

You might be able to snag their last assassin.

To answer your question, most times it seems space is the only consideration. The notion that if it'll fit, it'll be good. Too rarely are factors ignored like output level (matching output of front stage to substage), frequency response etc.

How would someone match output level and frequency responce? I was thinking about Rainbow SLC's for front stage.

Thanks

Curtis

BTW, I listen to all kinds of music (Country, Metal, Punk, a lil Rap...).

There's no exact way to do it. It would of course also depend on your enclosure design for the sub(s), as that greatly affects the sub's frequency response. Byut basically I meant people run 4x6's in the dash for front speakers matched to dual 15's in the backseat and then wonder why its so bass heavy or why there's a hole in the midbass (subs wont play up high enough and front wont play low enough). If you have a solid front stage with good midbass output, run larger subs tuned lower. If you run small mids up front, dont try matching the front stage to a low-end monster like an 18" sub. *shrug*
