alpine type r's hit like a mofo.... i have 3 of them wired to 1 ohm running off of one rockford fosgate t1000.1bd and they pound so hard you can feel the vibrations in your brain cells.... like to the point of where the subs wont let you swallow its too much bass... i could also sell you two new type r's that maybe have a couple weeks worth of playing time that are completely broken in. lmk

Consider a used Image Dynamics IDMAX. These things are very expensive when new, but for good reason. You get competition grade SQ and also good SPL potential. 1000watt RMS power handling +20mm xmax. Normally, people who buy them are a more mature audience, due to the price, rather than a stereotypical boomer kid, so you can find many used "like new" lightly used examples within your budget.

The new Alpine Type-Rs with their 1000watt RMS power handling sound good on paper, but have they reached the SQ potential of an IDQ/IDMAX?
