10" R's v.s. 12" L7

I keep thinking of a new setup in mind lately, and my mind keeps changing ever so often. Right now I got 2 10" type r with wire at 800x1 @2ohms. So they are a little power hungry. Im not wanting to invest in a new amp though, so I thought about a 12" L7. Im wanting more spl and I hear L7's are made to be loud. Wiring at 1ohm, would this give the extra boost or the hungry R's?

Put the L7 in a ported box tuned to around 35hz and it should slam! Id go with it over the Rs.. BUT the R's can get LOUD in the right application..

2 10" alpines will 90 % of time get louder then 1 12'' l7 now if your talking about getting 2 l7's i still wouldn't do it becuase you'll be horribly under powering them and just for thought are the alpines ported or sealed if there sealed thats your problem right there
