I don't post on this site to often, but thought I'd share my results with you guys.
Met up with a friend and went down to montgomery for the Team Street Shakers car audio competition. I have a RF Power HX2 10 in a 1.7 cube ported box tuned to 33hz (built by me) in the trunk of my mustang. It's powered by a Power Acoustik A2400db @ 1 ohm. I wasn't sure what I would score, but I was told it was loud for a 10" sub.
We got there and all I saw were suvs...I'm like, there is no way I'm gonna be able to compete with this crowd...oh well, I was there to get a score and to promote my box building.
But my turn came up to test out the sub, and man was I nervous. This was my first time on a mic, so i was not sure what to expect. My first run was a 132.9 sealed with mic on the windshield playing Kickin it by OJ da juiceman. I wanted that 133 but just couldn't get it (peak hold on the TL)...
We were given two 30 second runs. Didn't matter what we did to get the highest score possible in the 30 second time slots....I waited about 30 minutes before my next run.
My next run was a little better. I played #11 "Liquid bass" on the Bass Quake-Bass After Shock cd....I wasn't expecting what I got with this song because it gets very low, as some of you may know....But I ended up scoring a 134.6 @ 33hz!!!! Everyone was very impressed even though I had the quietest system at the show. I probably could have squeezed out a 135 if I would have revved the engine up instead of letting it sit at idle, oh well...
Want to give a shout out to Team Street Shakers...very nice group of guys and girls. Thanks for everything...My friend scored a 142.4 with 2 Konaki 12's on 2000rms in a ported box that I built for him, 6 cubes at 36hz.
But I just wanted to see what you guys think...Thanks for looking!!!
