the sx is 1000 watts rms and my amp only gives 489 rated, i sure wish I could. i could handle the se with my amp though. the se would be a better match. and with my 83 amp alt i would have to upgrade that and get a bigger amp. not worth it since i have a car with 167000 miles on it

idk man the cvx is a pretty stout sub, but the extra cone area may yield a tiny bit more spl but idk...

Se's are very very nice woofers. One of my top selling woofers at my shop! They can get crazy loud and sound clean as hell doing it You would be under powering it but still should sound great

I'm also underpowering my current sub but I figured the bigger cone area would please me a little better.

Oh yes, I had mine on 900watts once. 750watts is ideal for them

I'm willing to bet that this is a sidegrade and not an upgrade,i don't see you gaining anything from switching if things are comparable.
