Hi,

I'm just looking for clean install for Mercedes CLS- AmG.

Will be powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500d and a kinetic 2400

Which single setup sub will be louder? I know the w7 has more sQ, but the AQ to me is all around.

I think that the Hdc3 will be a lot cleaner at lower notes between 30-35 hZ.

It will be in box around 4 cu ft. tuned to 36hZ.

Both has pros and cons, but I want to know

WHICH ONE IS LOUDER!!!!

Thanks in advance.....

if it has to be in that big of a box, uve got no choice but to go with jl...make the box 1.5cu around 38hz and get the audioque...ull be soo much happier

Nothing wrong with JL audio, just with a few nut hugging fan boys. the w6v2 driver is ear *** IMO.
Yeah I heard the w6 has better sQ than the w7. The w7 leans towards Spl. But I think I be better of with the AQ bc its cleaner at lower notes.

Its not going to be that big. I was planning using the AQ in a 3 cu ft@36 hz OR the w7 in a 4 cu ft@36 hZ. This is all before displacement.

you could drop the AQ in probably 2 cubes before displacement and you would be good
I think that would be a little small for me. I have space to work with. The AQ is 46 lbs. I'm planning on doing the AQ 3 cu ft@ 36 hZ before displacement. What you think?

I loved my w6's they get loud and sound good doing it. Just hate jl as a company $155 just to change a surround and rplacing parts that dont need replacing. W6 over w7 anyday. W7 isnt geared towards spl there both sq drivers imo w6 does a better job at it

the original w6 and the w6v2 are phenomenal drivers.

The w7 is a very opinionated sub, its has very flat bl, the output is either love it or hate it. Some people like they way it sounds, some dont.

The w7 driver is pretty impressive but you also have to figure how old it is. I do hear JL is working on a new beast that will handle a ton more power and feature 4.25 in coil.

I love the 8w7 driver, its very good, has superb output and works in small and large spaces. Ive had the 13w7, it was pretty good, and got fairly loud. I remember reading that in one of the extreme class competitions, somebody replaced a 9515 DD with a 13w7 for burps and was only 1.0db behind the 9500, these are cars doing 170+.

So yeah you can shit on jl all you want, its a corporation, they are out to get money. They have no reason to lower prices because they have enough cliental to keep the company rich. Its their choice, but when I pick up jl subs for a good price they are def phenomenal and perform top notch, at least the higher end ones.

Would I buy one new? hell no, but would I use their subs? Any time.

A single 13W7 will get loud and sound very good while doing so. I have 2 in a Mazda 6, I couldn't be happier, got them both BNIB for 700$. Four cubic feet seems like to much. 3.3 as someone stated previously would be great, tuned between 30-33. I have mine in 5.5 cubes @ 31 hertz, the lows are amazing.

If the price is right, go for JL. If paying MSRP, f*k JL. That's my bottom line.
