10" 12" or 15" L7??? for my trunk

okay give your explanation then...So you are telling me an average run-of-the mill setup with 15s is going to respond as quickly as 10s?? We aren't talking competition, we're talking the back of a trunk w/ enough space to barely get two 12s or three 10s.
Yes, that's what I'm saying. A 15 and a 10 of the same model should sound very much alike. Transient response is determined by inductance, not cone area or cone weight.

Yes, they do sound very much alike. When you factor everything in though, they may have several differences. I get where you're coming from.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

It's also a common misconception that smaller subs can't adequately produce high pressure levels at low frequencies. I had a 2 10" Type R daily driving setup that peaked at 38hz. My current spl setups have been with bigger woofers and have all peaked around 50hz.

Do the 2 12's with them facing forward with the port towards firing towards the side. If you do the 15, still have it face forward with external flared ports facing the side.

for the 15"

The cvx and the l7 are based on the same thing. Surface area is more on an l7 because it is square. A 10" l7 is bigger than a 10" round. I find the l7 is just as durable if not more.

I can see where the cvx would be more durable though, more of an equal pressure spread across a more uniform area the the l7s..

I think thereis a rather large thread somewhere regarding this, but Im not sure

The cvx and the l7 are basically the same exact sub. One's round, one's square. When you say durable are you talking durable as in drop the sub and not break or how long it will last?

Sorry to thread jack but I never got it metered. All I can say is it was an extremely loud and musical setup but it was a WHOLE LOT louder than my 12" in the same style enclosure that did a 142.7 (TL).

But yeah, I've heard nothing but great things on the CVX. I wouldn't say they are louder than the L7 but that's just me. Get whatever is cheaper.
