10'' MTX Blue Thunder HELP!

So in all actuality I can not get down to 2 ohm? Well ... 2.66ohm? So I should base my wattage off of 4 ohms instead? And that would mean that only two would be a terrible idea huh? Cause that was my next test. Someone offered me to trade for TR4512X2D, so I'm trying to find out if its worth my effort to do that.

its wired to a 4ohm load because back in the 90s monoblocks were rare and most amps were 4ohm bridgable. so this set up would be perfect off a thunder 2300 rated at 600rms at 4ohm. it reality the 2300 would do close to 900rms...

i will tell you this, those blue thunder subs were awesome back then and still compare well to todays stuff. I still have one and recently replaced the much newer competition mtx sub in my car with my old blue thunder and there is absolutely no difference in sound, pressure or anything! It rumbles just as hard as the new sub!

@ 14.4 volts though,Most vehicles run @ 13.5-14v with all the electrical components running and sometimes lower @13.4-13.2v while running a/c and lights , so your amplifier with a stock alt,and not the big 3 being done, and decent sized battery, you are prob only getting Half of the rms out of that amp.

Are these the ones with the lighter grey cone and " Blue thunder" in blue written in the middle? If so I heard these in a triple 10" box in 98 or 99 in the Curcuit city sound room. I was impressed, granted I was only 15 but I remember wanting them badly.
