1 vs 2

Is there any actual benefit to having 2 12" subwoofers, as opposed to having 1 12" besides being louder? I am going for a SQ system and trying to decide if it is necessary to have 2 12" (i drive an SUV). I am not trying to get really loud bass, i just want a nice, clean, and well ballenced system.

they may be able to go a tad lower, but as far as sq purposes, one 12 would be fine.

Depends on the sub and box design..... in an SUV you'll want more output than in a sedan due to the larger interior.

1 will be fine for a SQ setup.

1 good 12 would be more than enough to provide a overall moderately flat response.

um you don't need nearly as much output in an SUV because its cabin is open. Theres a friggin seat between the cabin and the trunk in a sedan...
