1 rca sub output- 4subs......

just use the front and rear slots for your rca. Thats what I did at least.
That would defeat his xover in the h/u. If Im understanding you correctly, which Im probably not, because that would also mean you are running your front stage on h/u power, which is ewww.

Many monoblocks have an output, that would be best. Using Y-splitters can cause problems, but will generally work if you have no better choice.

if you are going to be using two identical amps, maybe strapping them would be better if its an option? I dont see why you would want to use the same rca sub out for two diff sub amps or whatever... anyway, when I ran my orions i used Y splitters, had one or two fail on me but I used the cheapies... with two 2500d's now I am using Y splitters. My two SoundStream 2000D's will be strapped so I'll do it however the manf recommends.

pm me Virtue, I saw your other post in WTB, are you into SPL? Not too too many Mainers are now-a-days.

I have a feeling it's HU power.

Like it was said, use the output on a monoblock. If you have to use a Y-splitter, I'd recommend a line driver, but it can work.
