im confused abt ohms

whats the difference if i hook up the same sub to

200 x 1 @ 4ohms and another one to 200 x 1 @ 2 ohms ? same sub but different amp and ohm

what will be the difference ? anything ? im consued will the bass from 4ohms sub be more cleaner or something ?

thanks

the sub will determine the ohms/impedance/load, and that load determines the amp's output. Example? An Alpine type-r with dual 4ohm voice coils can be wired in series (8ohms), parallel (2ohms) or with one voice coil open(4 ohms) or one voice coil shorted (4ohms) You have to pick the combination that best fits your needs.

parallel wiring gives you a lower resistance to get more power out of your amp, providing the amp is stable at that load. So, a dual 4ohm woofer in parallel would show the amp a 2ohm load, and you would get the power rated at that level, 2 of those woofers in parallel would be a 1ohm load, and only dedicated sub amps (class d's usually) are stable down there.

and only dedicated sub amps (class d's usually) are stable down there.
Soundstream Rubicon 2- and 4-channel amplifiers are stable to 1ohm/channel //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif So are all of the new RF Power amplifiers. Aswell as many others........
